Film Poster Stamps of Grace Kelly
From 2014 to 2019, Monaco issued a series of stamps featuring the posters of Grace Kelly’s films.
1951 — Fourteen Hours

This was Grace Kelly’s very first film. She had only a small role, not the lead.
Here is the original poster from the time — her name doesn’t appear on it yet.

1952 — High Noon

High Noon is a 1952 American Western directed by Fred Zinnemann. Grace Kelly plays Amy Fowler Kane, the marshal’s wife.
Its star, Gary Cooper, won the Academy Award for Best Actor at the 25th Academy Awards.
1953 — Mogambo

Mogambo, an American film made and released in 1953, was Grace Kelly’s third film and her first in color.
It was shot on location in the Belgian Congo, Tanganyika, British Kenya & Uganda.
Grace Kelly was originally brought in as a replacement, yet she went on to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.
“Mogambo” is said to be an African word meaning “the greatest.”
1954 — Dial M for Murder

Dial M for Murder is a 1954 American suspense thriller.
Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, it is still regarded as one of Grace Kelly’s signature films.
1954 — Rear Window

Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, it was highly acclaimed as a suspense masterpiece.
1954 — The Country Girl

The Country Girl is a 1954 American drama film.
It is based on Clifford Odets’s 1950 stage play of the same name.
It was directed by George Seaton and stars Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and William Holden.
This is the film for which Grace Kelly won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
It was chosen as the first stamp of the series, which began in 2014.
1954 — Green Fire

Green Fire is a 1954 American adventure film directed by Andrew Marton, set in South America.
1954 — The Bridges at Toko-Ri

The Bridges at Toko-Ri is a 1954 American war film about a U.S. Navy air squadron flying bombing missions during the Korean War.
1955 — To Catch a Thief

To Catch a Thief is a 1955 American romantic thriller directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
1956 — High Society

Starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra, it was her last film as an actress before she became Princess of Monaco.
1956 — The Swan

The Swan is a 1956 American film directed by Charles Vidor.
Based on a play by the Hungarian playwright Ferenc Molnár, it is sometimes described as the “farewell film” of Grace Kelly, who became Princess of Monaco on April 19, 1956.
Grace Kelly’s Film Poster Stamps: Summary
What did you think of Monaco’s stamps featuring the posters of Grace Kelly’s films?
You can see the posters of all 11 of her films on stamps.
You can really feel the Monaco Post’s dedication!
The stamps were issued in pairs, so in 2019 a wedding poster was paired with the last film.

I’ve seen a few of these films, and I’d love to find more of Grace Kelly’s films on streaming services.
